Rate them!

This is a great idea from one of our residents, a place to rate any company who's services are provided in Pheasant Walk. If you want to work or provide service to the residents of pheasant walk you better have good customer service and great pricing cause this is an open forum!

For Sale - For Rent

Do you have a home that you want to sell or rent? Do you know of any short sales coming up? A friend of a friend makes a good neighbor!

Advertise Services - Free, but you must follow these rules!

This is a place where you can advertise any service for free to the residents of Pheasant Walk. here are a few rules:

You must write exactly what you are willing to do. So if you are a lawn service you need to write: we cut grass, trim trees etc.

You must write when you will be in Pheasant Walk, so you need to write: we cut grass, trim trees etc. Every Wednesday.

You must write the price you will charge, and it must be the same for each home not dependent on size. So you would write: we cut grass, trim trees etc. Every Wednesday. For $60 a month or $15 a cut.

Any company that can plan to be in one place on a certain day can get more business by keeping their cost down. So if you do lawns, pools, rust, weeds, or anything else post here but follow the rules or your posts will be removed!

Give away, don't throw away!

Twice a week we have "outsiders" coming in to our community to try and find stuff that they can use. If you are ready to throw away something of value, a tv, computer or anything else post it here, give it away to someone that can use it that is a neighbor as well. Keep the community safe!

For Sale

Why make garage sales when you can list things there. Garage sales bring unwanted people into our wholesome community. Post for sale things and anyone that wants anything will get in touch with you.

The Park

The park is really nice, but are there only children in Pheasant Walk? What about the adults? We need tennis courts, basket ball courts and maybe even a public pool. Lets take care of everyone not only the children.

Property Values, any ideas how to get them back up?

Why are our homes so under-valued?

The economy is a big issue, but with great schools, low fees and a relativity quite HOA why did we drop? What is causing people not to want to live in our neighborhood?

HOA fees

Are our association fees too high? We are one of the lowest in Boca but why pay more than we need to? see this link for the proposed budget and post your thoughts and comments: http://www.pheasantwalkhoa.com/budgets/2012.pdf

Speeding On Pheasant Way

Has the speeding problem gotten any better? The other day I was walking on Pheasant Way and a car was going at least 40 MPH. I think that is 5 Miles over the speed limit. What do you think about the speeding problem?

Pool Safety

I thought this was a great article and very relevant:

Learn how simple safety steps save lives in and around pools and spas.

Parents and families can build on their current safety systems at pools and spas by adopting additional water safety steps. Adding as many proven water safety steps as possible is the best way to assure a safe and fun experience, because you can never know which one might save a child’s life—until it does.

  • Never leave a child unattended in a pool or spa and always watch your child when he or she is in or near water
  • Teach children basic water safety tips
  • Keep children away from pool drains, pipes and other openings to avoid entrapments
  • Have a telephone close by when you or your family is using a pool or spa
  • If a child is missing, look for him or her in the pool or spa first
  • Share safety instructions with family, friends and neighbors
  • Learn how to swim and teach your child how to swim
  • Learn to perform CPR on children and adults, and update those skills regularly
  • Understand the basics of life-saving so that you can assist in a pool emergency
  • Install a four-foot or taller fence around the pool and spa and use self-closing and self-latching gates; ask your neighbors to do the same at their pools.
  • Install and use a lockable safety cover on your spa.
  • If your house serves as a fourth side of a fence around a pool, install door alarms and always use them. For additional protection, install window guards on windows facing pools or spas.
  • Install pool and gate alarms to alert you when children go near the water
  • Ensure any pool and spa you use has compliant drain covers, and ask your pool service provider if you do not know
  • Maintain pool and spa covers in good working order
  • Consider using a surface wave or underwater alarm

    Sober House

Hearing that People are not happy having a Sober Home in Pheasant Walk, Has anyone ever had a problem? Is it a nice thing to be welcoming to people and helping them start over, or someone mentioned that this is actually hurting our property values?
